The company's mission is to use dance as a powerful tool to bring awareness of our oneness, our connectedness, our human stories, our history, our cultures, our equality as well as the beauty of humanity and the world.

Mayta Fusion Dance Company has collaborated with artists such as: Jazz singer Maiko Hata, composer Eve Joslyn Madalengoitia, photographer Barbara Todd, dance healer Gigi Oppenheimer, pianist O Zotique, guitarist Elden Kelly, dance educator Katina McClain, hip hop dancer Nick Jackson, Cellist Carolyn Lechusza, Poet Ifiteyo, Raw Spirit Frangrance company, The D'amby project and others.
Mayta Fusion Dance Company was awarded a residency in 2020 from Bethany arts community center. A grant from CREATE council on the arts for 2022. Summer of 2024 a premier dance duet with Tari Civerolo performed at the Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs NY for NACRE Sip, Savor and Swirl choreography competition.
Plus performances at Movement Research, Spoke the hub, Waxworks showcase at Triskelion Arts and Dixon place in NYC and more.
David McIntyre
Anna Mayta is an educator dance artist, improviser and choreographer. She has been teaching, performing, and choreographing for over 20+years!
Anna grew up in Chile, and graduated from Empire State College with a BA in Dance in Education (June 2001).
She has choreographed, many solo dance pieces. Some are "The world of humanity has two wings." This dance piece is a sequel to Anna’s solo dance choreography called “Veiled” choreographed after 9-11 (a methaphor for the plight of women in Afghanistan) Both these pieces are about women’s rights.
"Transcending linguistic prejudice". is another solo dance grounded in the histories of Latinx immigrants of Hudson NY facing linguistic prejudice, calling attention to their experience.
Anna taught dance for The National Ballet of Zimbabwe in Africa, in England, in India and in the Boston Area. Anna is currently teaching, choreographing, performing and directing Mayta Fusion Dance Company in the Hudson Valley, NY.
